KOMENTAR:  Uskoro nam stiže jedna od najvećih vaiṣṇavskih svetkovina: Lord Nityānanda Trayodaśī – Appearance of Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu – 25 februara 2021 četvrtak. Na nekoliko blogova je prezentirano više prigodnih tekstova na ovu temu.  

 

His Holiness Jayapatākā Svāmī Guru Mahārāja: Happy Nityānanda Trayodaśī! I was listening to Śrīla Prabhupāda. He spoke about this song written by Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura -- nitāi pada-kamala, koti-candra suśītala, ye chāyāya jagat juḍāya.

 

That by the mercy of Lord Nityānanda, you have heard that He is Balarāma as well, by His mercy everything in this universe, everyone in this universe they are all suffering from anxiety. You ask a person in the United State is and they are eloquent yet everybody is suffering from anxiety. Śrīla Prabhupāda was saying that by the mercy of Lord Nityānanda,  we don’t have any anxiety – although we have got seven thousand devotees and we have to feed them.

 

Normally just to feed one family there is so much anxiety but somehow we don’t have any anxiety. Jaya Nitāi! Jaya Nitāi! Jaya Nitāi! [Audience chants responsively.]

 

Jagat juḍāya means, the whole world, the whole universe cries upon hearing the ecstatic pastimes of how Lord Nityānanda left Ekacakrā. I think that it is hard not to know how much He was loved there. By Lord Nityānanda’s mercy we get the mercy of Lord Caitanya, you get the mercy of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa.

 

heno nitāi bine bhāi, rādha-kṛṣṇa pāite nāi, dṛḍha kori’ dharo nitāir pay.

 

If we don’t have the mercy of Lord Nityānanda we don’t get the mercy of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. So with great faith we should grab the lotus feet of Lord Nityānanda. We should fully take shelter of Lord Nityānanda. By His shelter we can also get Lord Caitanya’s mercy and we can also get Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa’s mercy. The whole perfection of our life is to have the mercy of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, to experience Their pastimes that is the real bliss, the real ecstasy and that is possible only by the mercy of Lord Nityānanda.

 

Some how we went past over Lord Nityānanda like in the Pānnihāṭi festival, which is also known as the Daṇḍa Mahotsava Lord Nityānanda said to Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī, “I am going to punish you! You come here! I am going to punish you!

 

“Punish you!” Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī paid his obeisances knowing that he was going to get punished.

 

Then Lord Nityānanda came and put His lotus feet on the head of Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī. You thief! You have to feed all these associates with cida, dahi and fruits. Haribol! Jaya Nitāi. [Audience chant responsively.] As Rādhānāth Svāmī said Lord Nityānanda is very mysterious. He is also very jolly, very cunning. So His punishment was that Raghunātha dasa had to feed His associates chipped rice and yogurt and fruits. Now this is nothing. He is wealthy. His uncle and father are millionaires so it is not a big thing for him. But by this little seva which he got. This festival is called the Daṇḍa Mahotsava. It is called the festival of punishment or the Pānnihāṭi Ciḍā Dadhi festival. So, why?

 

Although Nityānanda was very close to Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī, he was in Adī-Saptagrām and Nityānanda was in Kolkata(?) in the Pānnihāṭi he was directly going to Lord Caitanya and he was refused. He was not accepted. He was told so many things. So then he got the idea, “Let me go to Lord Nityānanda. By His mercy I will get Lord Caitanya.” Then he was on the right track. He went to Lord Nityānanda and he got the mercy of Lord Caitanya. Jaya Nitāi!

 

So that is the punishment that He said, “Why you are staying away? You are a thief.” Because he was not coming to get the mercy of Lord Nityānanda. If you don’t get His mercy, you don’t get Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, you don’t get Lord Caitanya. So how many of you want Lord Nityānanda’s mercy? Jaya Nitāi! Jaya Nitāi! Jaya Nitāi!

 

There was a second meeting. I don’t know all the details that were told by Rādhānāth Svāmī. These details are very ecstatic. At the second meeting Lord Caitanya was at the house of i Ṭhākura. That is Candraśekara Prabhu. So he was there doing kīrtana and Lord Nityānanda came there. Either in the day or night there was a second meeting. So there They saw each other. Nitāi, “Gaurāńga! Nityānanda! Gaurāńga! Nityānanda! Gaurāńga! Nityānanda! They ran and embrace each other and danced in ecstasy.

 

In that dancing it is said that sometimes Lord Caitanya would be on the lap of Lord Nityānanda and He would wash Lord Caitanya’s head with His tears and sometimes Nityānanda would be on the lap of Lord Caitanya and Lord Caitanya would wash His head with tears. Like this Śrī Gadādhara Paṇḍita was watching and he was amazed how it seemed like Lord Caitanya was Mahā Viṣṇu on Ananta Śeṣa and he saw Their affection and was amazed. He said, “This is really exceptional.” So They had a second meeting. I wish I had all the details. So nice kīrtana was going on at Ṭhākur’s. Ṭhākur se sambandha nāhi jāra bṛthā janma gela tā’ra, sei paśu baḍa durācāra

 

So those who don’t know the mercy of Lord Nityānanda are not, se sambandha – who don’t have any relationship with Lord Nityānanda their birth, brtha is useless. So our Ācārya Narottama sings. Paśu is an animal. It is very filthy.

 

Śrīla Prabhupāda here says that we are all dogs, in one sense. We are all serving some masters. But we should become a dog of Lord Nityānanda a and by being His dog we can get all the mercy. So we can be a dog for the masters in the material world or we can be a dog like Vaiṣṇava kukur like Śrīla  Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura is saying, “O Vaiṣṇava Ṭhākura ing Him with our mind, endeavor and our words and our activities, our deeds. So in this way we can get the mercy of Lord Nityānanda.

 

Lord Nityānanda is very, very, very merciful. [Weeps.] If we don’t na balila mukhe mājila saḿsāra-sukhe. What will be the use of all their education if someone thinks, “I can achieve Kṛṣṇa consciousness. I have a degree. I have a Phd or a doctorate or a master’s degree or a bachelor of arts. All these degrees don’t help. What helps is the mercy of Lord Nitāi. Nitāi!

 

Nitai! So we should take shelter of Lord Nityānanda’s lotus feet. We sing in the mornings:

 

hā hā prabhu nityānanda premānanda-sukhī kṛpābalokana koro āmi boro duhkhī.

 

So Lord Nityānanda gives His mercy to the fallen souls. He is very merciful.It is said that He is always immersed in spiritual bliss. In that meeting that was told by Rādhānāth Svāmī so ecstatic. There are so many pastimes where Lord Nityānanda was showing His ecstasy. He is always filled with spiritual bliss. And we can get the mercy of Lord Nityānanda a very easily just by chanting the holy names.

 

If you go to Ekacakrā and if you don’t say Nitāi-Gaura, if you say Gaura-Nitāi everybody will think, “What is wrong with you?!” You got to say Nitāi-Gaura. [Audience chants responsively.] Nitāi-Gaura. [Audience chants responsively.] Nitāi-Gaura. [Audience chants responsively.] Then by the mercy of Nitāi you can get the mercy of Gaura.

 

In the Śrī Caitanya Caritāmṛta it is said that just by chanting the name Nityānanda, we can get love of Kṛṣṇa. Just by chanting the names Gaurāńga we will all get Kṛṣṇa. So we want to take shelter and chant the names of Nitāi and Gaurāńga. Nityānanda! Gaurāńga!

 

In South India there is a i called Nityānanda i just by saying Nityānanda he is having some illicit relationship with some movie starlets. I told him to explain that he is not Nityānanda of five hundred years ago. Is quiet unusual. So this name people will use but they don’t know who Lord Nityānanda is. In our Temple of Vedic Planetarium our main deities are Pañca Tattva. And there we have Lord Caitanya, Lord Nityānanda, Advaita, Gadādhara and Śrīvās. So Nityānanda He is the very major personality for this temple and all the people will know who is Lord Nityānanda. They should know.

 

Some people are confused. They don’t think that Balarāma is Viṣṇu-tattva. i but we know that He is known as the prakasa lila. He is the expansion of Lord Kṛṣṇa. He is the first expansion and from Him all the other avataras and all the other Viṣṇu’s, Nārāyaṇa’s are expanded. So Balarāma is very important.

 

In fact it is said when Śrīmatī Rādhāraṇī sometimes faints in ecstasy of separation from Kṛṣṇa, when She is unconscious then Kṛṣṇa also faints. And when Kṛṣṇa faints everything stops. The Moon stops, the Sun stops, everything stops except Balarāma. He has the duty to wake up Kṛṣṇa and then massage Him. Kṛṣṇa is the Supreme consciousness so if He stops, everything stops except Balarāma. So how important Balarāma is people don’t know but He is very, very important. So when He comes as Nityānanda a he gives His mercy so much so that because of Him Jagāi and Mādhāi were delivered. Even when He was hit on the head by a wine bottle and blood was coming he said, “Just because you drew blood does that mean that I won’t give you love?” So then Jagāi said, “He just smashed the wine bottle all over His head. He is bleeding but He still talking about love! This is no ordinary soul. I surrender.” So Jagāi encourage Mādhāi to surrender.

 

Then Lord Caitanya came and He invoked the Sudarśana Cakra. Afterwards Mādhāi went to Nityānanda and he begged, “Please forgive me for my offence.” And Lord Nityānanda said, “I don’t take any offence. You are like a little baby.

 

The baby kicks the mother but the mother doesn’t take offence.” Lord Nityānanda compared breaking the wine bottle all over His head which caused Him to bleed with the baby kicking the mother. But it is not the same thing but this is how Lord Nityānanda took it. Mādhāi was feeling i so he asked, “I have committed many offences to the dhambasis.” Then Lord Nityānanda said, “Yes. That is true.” So he said, “What shall I do to counteract that?”

 

So he said, “If you will facilitate people in their Kṛṣṇa consciousness then you will get forgiven for your offences to the dhambasis.”

 

So in the hottest day of the year in the month of May he dug a ghat with his own hands, which he named Mādhāi Ghat which extends into the Gaṅges. All the people use that. They were facilitated in their service to the Gaṅgā and brāhmaṇas and service to Kṛṣṇa. So because of that Mādhāi was forgiven for his offences to the dhambasis all by the mercy of Nityānanda. Nityānanda. Nityānanda!

 

So if we don’t take the mercy of Lord Nityānanda then our life is useless and it is very hard to make advancement. So we should get the mercy of Lord Nityānanda. Nityānanda.

 

ahaṅkāre matta hoiyā, nitāi-pada pāsariyā, asatyere satya kori māni.

 

So we are very much affected by the false ego. We think that the temporary world is eternal, that the false things are true. So in this way we get thoroughly illusioned. So we should not miss the mercy of Lord Nityānanda.We should not leave His shelter because of false ego. We should take shelter of Lord Nitāi and in this way we get to be situated in proper spiritual strength.

 

Nityānanda is non-different from Balarāma. So Balarāma as I was explaining, Bala means strength. In the western world people think strength means a stout body, big muscles. This is not the strength that is talked about. This is spiritual strength. So Lord Nityānanda is giving us this spiritual strength, the special bliss to transcend this material world. So we should take shelter of Lord Nityānanda. Nityānanda.

 

nitāiyer koruna habe, braje rādhā-kṛṣṇa pābe, dharo nitāi-carana du ’khāni.

 

So by the mercy of Lord Nityānanda we get the mercy of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. We should grab onto the two feet of Lord Nityānanda or the diksa guru. The gurus, Śrīla Prabhupāda he is coming in the line of Lord Nityānanda. It is said that the guru is very dear to Lord Nityānanda. So we take the shelter of guru, of Śrīla Prabhupāda. In this way we should not miss the shelter of Lord Nityānanda. We should take shelter of Lord Nityānanda and in this way we will get Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa.

 

So we should not be illusioned by the false ego and think that somehow we can get Kṛṣṇa because of our material qualification. There is verse that also says that bhakti is,

 

sarvopāthi-vinirmuktam, tat-paratvena nirmalām, hṛṣikeṇa hṛṣikeśa-sevanam bhaktir ucyate

[Madhya 19.170].

 

So to be free from all these external designations, which causes us to be falsely proud. All of us have some designations but we don’t take it as very important. It causes us to leave Kṛṣṇa consciousness. All we need is the mercy of Lord Nityānanda, mercy the guru and the mercy of Vaiṣṇavas.

 

Gaurāńga! Nityānanda!

 

nitāiyer caraṇa satya, tāńhāra sevaka nitya, nitāi-pāda sadā koro āśā.

 

Lord Nityānanda’s lotus feet are eternal and His servants are eternal. So we go on the Navadvīpa Parikramā so we also go. i So this year I heard that we have four groups. We have the international group. We because Lord Nityānanda a went and we are following in His footsteps. Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī went on the Navadvīpa Parikramā so we also go. i So this year I heard that we have four groups. We have the international group. We have the Bengali group. We have a Russian Group and this year we have the Hindi group. [Harbol.] It will increase.

 

There is a big quantity of speakers. This year we tried four groups. We have a Bengali group as well. 2500 people in the International group 1500 Russian. So like this it is very usual to have so many groups.

 

Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura he had between 5000 and 10 000 people on Parikramā. So this is also certifying that they get the mercy of Lord Nityānanda. Nityānanda [Audience chants responsively.]

 

We know that His lotus feet are eternal and to be His servitor one will be eternal. When Śrīla Prabhupāda arrived here in Māyāpur after giving he took some water in his golden goblet and said, “Oh! Māyāpur! Living and dying in Māyāpur is all the same.” Our living and dying is the same. He said if you are living in Māyāpur you are living in the spiritual world and if you die there you go back to Goloka, go back to the spiritual world. Māyāpur Dhām ki! Jaya! So this is all the mercy of Lord Nityānanda that by His mercy we get the mercy of Lord Caitanya and Rādhā Kṛṣṇa and we can stay here in the holy dhāma.

 

So we should take this holy day and grab onto His lotus feet and take full shelter. Jaya Nitāi! Jaya Nitāi! Jaya Nitāi! So one more line.

 

narotamma boro dukhī, nitāi more koro sukhī, rākho rāngā-caranera pāśa.

 

Narotamma says, “I am very, very sad, very much in distress. Lord Nityānanda please make me happy. Keep me by Your lotus feet.” So how many of you want to be kept by the lotus feet of Lord Nityānanda?   Jaya Nitāi! So I heard the class started 15 minutes late. Now it is twenty minute over. I always i So thank you very much and I hope you have a very blissful Nitāi Trayodaśī by the mercy of Lord Nityānanda.   Jaya Nitāi! Jaya Nitāi! Jaya Nitāi!

mantra-guru āra yata śikṣā-guru-gaṇa

tāńhāra caraṇa āge kariye vandana

 

SYNONYMS: mantra-guru — the initiating spiritual master; āra — and also; yata — as many (as there are); śikṣā-guru-gaṇa — all the instructing spiritual masters; tāńhāra — of all of them; caraṇa — unto the lotus feet; āge — at first; kariye — I offer; vandana — respectful obeisances.

 

Prvo odajem svoje ponizno poštovanje lotosovim stopalima duhovnog učitelja, koji me inicirao i svim duhovnim učiteljima, koji me poučavaju.

 

SMISAO: Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī u svom djelu Bhakti-Sandarbha [202], izjavljuje da je čisto predano služenje cilj vaiṣṇava i da osoba mora tako predano služiti u društvu ostalih bhakta. Družeći se s bhaktama Gospodina Kṛṣṇe razvija svjesnost Kṛṣṇe i postaje sklona služenju Gospodina s ljubavlju. Tako zahvaljujući predanom služenju postepeno sve više cijeni Gospodina. To je proces prilaženja Svevišnjem Gospodinu. Ako osoba želi čisto predano služiti, mora se družiti s bhaktama Śrī Kṛṣṇe, jer samo zahvaljujući takvom druženju uslovljena duša može steći ukus za transcendentalnu ljubav i tako oživjeti svoj vječni odnos sa Bogom u određenoj manifestaciji i transcendentalnom odnosu [rasi], koji joj je vječno prirođen.

 

Vrhovnu Apsolutnu Istinu možemo spoznati, ako djelatnostima svjesnosti Kṛṣṇe, razvijemo ljubav prema Kṛṣṇi, ali onaj ko pokušava da shvati Boga logičkim argumentima neće uspjeti, niti će steći ukus za čistu devociju. Tajna je u tome da moramo ponizno slušati one koji savršeno znaju nauku o Bogu i početi da služimo u skladu s uputstvima učitelja. Bhakta koji već osjeća privlačnost prema imenu, obliku i odlikama Svevišnjeg Gospodina može biti upućen u poseban način predanog služenja, koji mu je svojstven; ne treba gubiti vrijeme na prilaženje Gospodinu putem logike. Iskusni duhovni učitelj dobro zna kako da usmjeri energiju svog učenika ka transcendentalnom služenju Gospodina s ljubavlju. Tako podstiče bhaktu da predano služi na određeni način, u skladu sa svojim sklonostima. Bhakta mora imati samo jednog dīkṣā-gurua, jer se u spisima uvijek zabranjuje da prihvati više od jednog. Međutim, nema granica broju śikṣā-gurua, koje može prihvatiti. Obično duhovni učitelj, koji neprestano poučava učenika o duhovnoj nauci, kasnije inicira učenika.

 

Trebamo uvijek imati na umu da će onaj ko ne želi da prihvati duhovnog učitelja i bude iniciran sigurno biti neuspješan u svom pokušaju da se vrati Bogu. Onaj ko nije pravilno iniciran može se predstavljati kao veliki bhakta, ali u stvari će sigurno naići na brojne kamene spoticanja na svom putu napredovanja prema duhovnoj spoznaji. Tako će morati da nastavi svoje materijalno postojanje bez olakšanja. Takva bespomoćna osoba se upoređuje s brodom bez kormila, koji nikada ne može stići u svoje odredište. Stoga, ako želimo da steknemo Gospodinovu naklonost moramo prihvatiti duhovnog učitelja. Služenje duhovnog učitelja je od suštinske važnosti. Ako nema prilike da služi duhovnog učitelja neposredno, bhakta ga treba služiti sjećajući se njegovih uputstava. Nema razlike između uputstava duhovnog učitelja i samog duhovnog učitelja. Stoga, u njegovom odsustvu njegova uputstva trebaju biti ponos učenika. Ako osoba misli da za savjet ne treba pitati nikoga drugog, pa čak ni duhovnog učitelja, odmah nanosi uvredu Gospodinovim lotosovim stopalima. Takav  vrijeđalac se nikada ne može vratiti Bogu. Ozbiljna osoba mora prihvatiti vjerodostojnog duhovnog učitelja u skladu s naredbama śāstra.

 

Prema savjetu Śrīla Jīve Gosvāmīya, duhovnog učitelja ne bismo trebali prihvatiti zbog nasljednih ili tradicionalnih društvenih i svešteničkih običaja. Jednostavno trebamo pokušati da pronađemo istinski kvalificiranog duhovnog učitelja da bismo zaista napredovali u duhovnom razumijevanju.

Ovih šest duhovnih učitelja su moji śikṣā-gurui i zato odajem milione puta ponizno poštovanje njihovim lotosovim stopalima.

 

SMISAO: Prihvatanjem šestorice Gosvāmīya za śikṣā-gurue pisac jasno ukazuje da ne bismo trebali prihvatiti kao Gauḍīya vaiṣṇavu onoga ko ne sluša njihova uputstva.

KOMENTAR: Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī, Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī, Śrīla Bhaṭṭa Raghunātha, Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī, Śrīla Gopāla Bhaṭṭa Gosvāmī i Śrīla Raghunātha Dāsa Gosvāmī su nas zadužili na mnogo načina. Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī,  jedan od naših predhodnih Ācārya i najveći filozof koga je svijet ikada ugledao prema meritornom mišljenju duhovnih autoriteta -- napisao je i objavio preko 400 000 stihova u svojim knjigama.  Radi poređenja, koliko je značajan i bogat literarni opus Śrīla Jīve Gosvāmīya, da se podsjetimo da izvorne Purāṇe za ljudsku rasu sadrže isto tako 400 000 stihova dok Purāṇe za Deve sadrže 10 000 000 stihova.

SYNONYMS: vande — I offer respectful obeisances; gurūn — unto the spiritual masters; īśa-bhaktān — unto the devotees of the Supreme Lord; īśam — unto the Supreme Lord; īśa-avatārakān — unto the incarnations of the Supreme Lord; tat — of the Supreme Lord; prakāśān — unto the manifestations; ca — and; tat — of the Supreme Lord; śaktīḥ — unto the potencies; kṛṣṇa-caitanya — Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya; saḿjñakam — named.

 

Odajem svoje ponizno poštovanje duhovnim učiteljima, Gospodinovim bhaktama, Gospodinovim inkarnacijama, Gospodinovim potpunim dijelovima, Gospodinovim energijama i samom prvobitnom Gospodinu Śrī Kṛṣṇi Caitanyi.

 

SMISAO: Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī je sastavio ovaj stih na sanskritu za početak svoje knjige i sada će ga detaljno objasniti. On odaje svoje ponizno poštovanje principima Apsolutne Istine, kojih ima šest.

 

Gurūn  je množina, jer se svako ko daje duhovna uputstva zasnovana na razotkrivenim spisima prihvata kao duhovni učitelj. Iako drugi pomažu u pokazivanju puta početnicima, guru koji prvi inicira osobu s mahā-mantrom je poznat kao dīkṣā-guru, a svete osobe koje daju uputstva za napredovanje u svjesnosti Kṛṣṇe se nazivaju śikṣā-guruima. Dīkṣā-guru i śikṣā-guru su jednake i istovjetne manifestacije Kṛṣṇe, iako imaju različite uloge. Njihov zadatak je da vrate uslovljenu dušu kući, nazad Bogu. Zato je Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī prihvatio Nityānandu Prabhua i šest  Gosvāmīya kao gurue. Īśa-bhaktān  se odnosi na Gospodinove bhakte poput Śrī Śrīvāsa i ostalih takvih sljedbenika, koji su Gospodinova energija i koji se kvalitativno ne razlikuju od Njega. Īśāvatārakān se odnosi na Ācārye poput Advaite Prabhua, koji je Gospodinov avatara. Tat-prakāśāḿś ukazuje na neposrednu manifestaciju Svevišnje Božanske Osobe, Nityānandu Prabhua i duhovnog učitelja koji inicira. Tac-chaktīḥ se odnosi na duhovne energije [śakti] Gospodina Śrī Caitanye Mahāprabhua. Gadādhara, Dāmodara i Jagadānanda  pripadaju ovoj kategoriji unutrašnje energije.

 

Šest principa se različito manifestiraju, ali svi zavrijeđuju jednako obožavanje. Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī započinje svoje djelo odajući im svoje poštovanje da bi nas poučio metodu obožavanja Gospodina Caitanye. Gospodinova spoljašnja moć po imenu māyā, nikada se ne može družiti s Gospodinom, baš kao što tama ne može postojati u prisustvu svjetlosti; a ipak, pošto je tama samo iluzoran, privremeni prekrivač svjetlosti, ne može postojati nezavisno od svjetlosti.

ŚRĪLA BHAKTISIDDHĀNTA SARASVATĪ ṬHĀKURA -- DISAPPEARANCE -- 2 JANUARY 2021 SATURDAY -- CATURTHĪ [FOR COORDINATES OF SARAJEVO] [PART 1]

 

 

KOMENTAR: U subotu 2. januara 2021 godine [za koordinate Sarajeva] je Dan Odlaska [Disappearance Day] s ovog svijeta velikog vaiṣṇavskog sveca i Ācārye – His Divine Grace Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānte Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Gosvāmī Mahārāja. Ovaj post je koncipiran u svrhu dostojnog obilježavanja ovog dana skromnim prilogom iz biografije i ogromnog doprinosa, koji je Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Gosvāmī Mahārāja dao razumijevanju vaiṣṇavske filozofije. Tu je i snaga instrukcija datih svojim učenicima, kojima je zadužio čitav svijet. Potrebno je neizostavno navesti i njegov poseban doprinos na neograničenom polju spoznaja ezoteričnih misterija i razjašnjenja mnogobrojnih kontraverzi oko strukture univerzuma i cjelokupne Božje kreacije.

 

Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura se pojavio u svetom mjestu hodočašća, Jagannātha Purīyu, kao sin Śrīla Bhaktivinode Ṭhākura, uzvišenoga vaiṣṇavskog Ācārye u učeničkom naslijeđu Śrī Caitanye Mahāprabhua. Iako zaposlen kao državni sudija, Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura neumorno je radio, kako bi uspostavio učenja Gospodina Caitanye u Indiji. Imao je viziju svjetskog duhovnog pokreta i molio se za sina koji bi mu pomogao ostvariti taj san.

 

Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta se pojavio na ovom svijetu 6. februara 1874 godine u svetom gradu hodočašća -- Jagannātha Purīyu, gdje je Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Thakura služio kao upravitelj čuvenog Templa Jagannātha. Dobio je ime Bimala Prasada. U sedmoj godini života Bimala Prasada znao je napamet više od sedam stotina sanskritskih stihova iz Bhagavad-gīte, koje je mogao objasniti. Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Thakura, autor brojnih važnih knjiga i drugih književnih radova o Gaudiya vaiṣṇavskoj filozofiji, podučio je sina štampanju i korekturi.

 

Do dvadeset i pete godine, Bimala Prasad stiče veliki ugled kao poznavatelj sanskrita, matematike, astronomije i Jyotiṣa -- vedske astrologije. Svojom astronomskom raspravom i prevodom Sūrya-Siddhānte, osvojio je počasni naslov Siddhānta Sarasvatī kao priznanje za svoja izvanredna učenja. Godine 1905, po savjetu svoga oca, prihvaća duhovnu inicijaciju Śrīla Gaurakiśhora Dāsa Bābājīya. Premda neškolovan u svjetovnim školama, Śrīla Gaurakiśhora Dāsa Bābājī bio je poznat širom kontinenta, kao veliki svetac i vaiṣṇavski Acarya. Iako veliki učenjak, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura je pred svojim učiteljem bio ponizan i predan.

 

Zadovoljan takvom poniznošću i predanošću svog visoko obrazovanog učenika, Śrīla Gaurakiśhora Dāsa Bābājī mu je dao sve blagoslove i zamolio ga da "propovijeda Apsolutnu Istinu i ostavi sve drugo". Nakon odlaska Śrīla Bhaktivinode Thākura 1914 godine, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura postaje urednik očeva časopisa Sajjana - Toṣaṇī i osniva Bhagavad Press za izdavanje Gauḍiya vaiṣṇavske literature.

 

Godine 1918 prihvaća odvojeni red života i uzima ime Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Gosvāmī.

 

U svrhu širenja Gauḍiya vaiṣṇavske literature širom Indije, osniva Gauḍiya Math, sa šezdeset četiri ogranka širom Indije. Glavno sjedište njegove misije, Caitanya Gauḍiya Math, nalazi se  u Śrī  Dhām Māyāpuru,  rodnom  mjestu Śrī Caitanye Mahāprabhua.

 

Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta je prilagodio drevnu tradiciju tehničkim i društvenim uslovima dvadesetog stoljeća. Štamparski stroj smatrao je najproduktivnijim sredstvom širenja te poruke širom svijeta, a i sam je bio autor mnogih važnih prevoda, komentara i filozofskih eseja. Bio je prvi duhovni učitelj u učeničkom naslijeđu, koji je dopustio svojim propovjednicima u odvojenom redu života [sannyāsiyima] da nose zapadnjačku odjeću i putuju savremenim prevoznim sredstvima umjesto pješice.

 

Godine 1922, inteligentni mladi student Abhay Caran De posjetio je Śrīla Bhaktisiddhāntu u središtu Gauḍiya Matha u Kolkati [Callcuti]. Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta odmah je savjetovao mladiću da bi trebao propovijedati zapadnom svijetu poruku svjesnosti Kṛṣṇe na engleskom jeziku. Iako nije mogao odmah provesti u djelo želju Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānte, Abhay je postao aktivan pristaša Gauḍiya Matha. Godine 1933 Abhay je službeno postao učenik Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānte Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, koji mu je dao ime Abhay Caraṇāravinda.


Tokom 1930-ih Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta razvija i povećava misionarski rad, te uspijeva ponovno uspostaviti svjesnost Kṛṣṇe, kao vodeću snagu u duhovnom životu Indije. U želji da se njegov rad nastavi, požuruje svoje učenike da osnuju zajedničko Upravno Izvršno Tijelo koje bi upravljalo Gauḍiya Mathom u njegovoj odsutnosti.

 

Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī  je napustio ovaj svijet 1. januara 1937. godine. Nažalost, njegovi vodeći učenici nisu marili za njegovu uputu da vode Upravno Izvršno Tijelo, a kao posljedica toga Gauḍiya Math se kao ujedinjena propovjedačka misionarska organizacija, postepeno raspao.

 

Međutim, Abhay Caraṇāravinda ostaje vjeran viziji Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānte Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Gosvāmī   Mahārāja po kojoj će svjesnost Kṛṣṇe postati svjetski poznat pokret i uputi koju je osobno dobio od njega. Prihvaća odvojeni red života sannyāsu i dobija ime Bhaktivedānta Svāmī  Mahārāja. Godine 1965 putuje u Sjedinjene Američke Države propovijedati svjesnost Kṛṣṇe na engleskom jeziku. Śrīla Prabhupāda osniva Međunarodno društvo za svjesnost Kṛṣṇe i uspostavlja Upravno Tijelo [GBC], koje nastavlja upravljati pokretom nakon njegova odlaska s ovog svijeta 1977 godine. Tako se, iskrenim naporima A.C. Bhaktivedanta Svāmī Śrīla Prabhupāde i njegovih sljedbenika, djelo Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānte Sarasvatī Ṭhākura nastavlja širom cijelog svijeta.
